Image
~With my husband I started this little collaboration to make a Haunted Doll House for my daughters. My husband makes the house and I crochet all the spooky dolls. Hopefully it will al be finished for Halloween~ To decorate the rooftop of the Doll House, I made this little reaper.  For this pattern I used the little book 'Amigurumi en Monsters' by Tessa van Riet (only in Dutch, unfortunately). www.betweennapsontheporch.net     ~*~   My Halloween Skull was featured by Jembellish and by A Craf ty Mix !!   Thank you, Jill and  Michelle !

Haunted Doll House: Voodoo Doll

Image
~With my husband I started this little collaboration to make a Haunted Doll House for my daughters. My husband makes the house and I crochet all the spooky dolls. Hopefully it will al be finished for Halloween~ On Pinterest I saw this free pattern for a voodoo doll and I thought it would fit right in with the rest of the monsters living in the doll house. I did some alterations to make it a bit smaller, because otherwise the doll would stick her head through the roof.   www.betweennapsontheporch.net ~*~ My Mummy , who lives also in the Haunted Doll House, was featured this week by Oombawka Design . Thanks, Rhondda!

Today my daughters wanted to make something eatable for Halloween, but I know they can't concentrate for hours on it without eating from it, so I choose something simple to make, ready in ten minutes, but with a real Halloween look. I bought white oreos, cup cake sticks and chocolate decoration pencils and that was all we needed.   www.betweennapsontheporch.net I found this idea here . ~*~ My Fall Mochila was featured by France Nadeau , by Creative Jewish Mom and by The Charm of Home !! Thank you, France, Sara and Sherry!

Although it's around 30 degrees Celsius here for the last couple of days, fall is definitely in the air. And all spiders know it. I can tell by the thousands of webs that decorate my garden, all of them with spiders in it that seem to get bigger every year. This one was about 4cm (legs included). It's a good thing I'm not afraid of spiders at all, because I have to push through webs every morning, just to get out of my garden. www.betweennapsontheporch.net Even wh ile I was taking pictures of the sk ull I made for Halloween, a spider came crawling towards the skull , threw ou t a thread and started right away ma king a web between the skull and my pergola.  Do you know Black D eath Vodka? Th at's what 's in sp ired me making this one. No t the vodka itself, I don't even know what it tastes lik e , because I never drink alcohol, b ut th e bottle.

Fall Mochila

After making the last mochila a couple of weeks ago, I didn't feel like making any more for a while. It takes me a week or three to finish one and honestly, I don't like projects that take so long very much. But being the biggest failure on earth when it comes to saying 'no' to people I like, I started with another one immediately after someone asked me to make two for her. So here's the first one.  www.betweennapsontheporch.net ~*~ My Popcorn Cupcakes were featured by Scrapality and Creative Inspiration ! Thank you, Andrea and Stacey!

Because of my job, I don't wear jewelry very often. I'm an OR-nurse (scrub and circulate) and we're not allowed to wear jewelry in the operating theater because of an increased infection risk. But sometimes I see beads I just need, like these pink skull beads.    www.betweennapsontheporch.net ~*~ Last week I showed you a mochila I made for a colleague. It was featured by Oombawka Design , by Creative Jewish Mom , Creative Crochet Workshop and by City of Creative Dreams . Thanks, Rhondda, Sara, Joanita and Shanice!

Popcorn Cupcakes

My dear daughter started school this week and because it was still vacation when she had her birthday, she wanted to treat her class mates on something sweet this week. After some years of making treats, finding something original becomes more difficult every time. Fortunately I found this Popcorn Cupcakes on Pinterest and because my daughter loves popcorn, it didn't take much to make her enthusiastic. But, like (almost) every year, it looked so simple, but took me a lot of hours to give it the look I had in mind.   www.betweennapsontheporch.net Bless me, I bought ready to use cupcakes (there were years that I even baked the cupcakes myself, for each and every kid in a class of 36). But, yes, even though I like to make something special,  I have learned, the past years.   For the wrappers around the cakes I used this template .  For the popcorn I used marshmallows, that I cut in pieces to make it look like popcorn. I made them look a bit buttery with water
