Green Tea Sugar Scrub

Image
A couple of weeks ago I discovered Instagram and posting pictures on Instagram requires a phone. And because I can use my Instagram pictures for my blog, too, I've neglected my camera for quite some time now. So much time that I don't know where I've left it. Or maybe I've even lost it. When we went to Paris last week, I wanted to bring it, and that was the first time I actually missed my camera. I feel a bit guilty now, because the thing is: I love my camera. It's small, does anything I want, pictures are always sharp and uploading is easy. Except when you want your pictures on Instagram, and that's why I didn't use it for the last couple of weeks. So, please, pray for me I'll find it! ~*~ This week I made new scrub. As you may remember, my favorite scrub is my homemade Lavender Sugar Scrub , but I was in for something new and made Green Tea Scrub this time.   www.betweennapsontheporch.net Here's the recipe: 1 cup of Cocos Oil 1

More Halloween Projects

Image
www.betweennapsontheporch.net After a time consuming project such as the cross stitch Sugar Skull from last week now a fast one: a drawing of a cute evil pumpkin. And because we are renovating again, I had to clear out a closet and found the Hama Beads. I couldn't withstand temptation and had to make something for Halloween. I found some simple patterns and hoopla, a ghost and a pumpkin! In the same closet I found something I made a couple of years ago for Halloween,  before I started blogging. Don't know why I kept it, but since I still like it, it's hanging from the kitchen wall. As I remember it right, I found this owl at Martha Stewart.

Fall

Image
We had real good weather the month of september, which made up for the really worse month of august, that was full of wind and rain, more wind and rain and even more wind and rain. The weather was so good actually that I could have my Ibiza Style series totally appropriate (Ibiza being an island in the Mediterranean Sea, that people go to mostly in the summer, when the weather is warm). Fall still hasn't come here yet. At the end of summer I'm looking forward to baking speculaas and pumpkin cakes, to light up the candles, to going back to living inside, but at the end of october it's still around 20 degrees Celsius here. So, I have to create my own fall for now, I guess. Today I bought ball chrysantemums and pumpkins for the garden. Drew some leaves and pumpkins on the windows with chalk paint, as you can see in the back of the picture. Bought some dried hydragaea, too.  I took out my crocheted Cat Pumpkin , that I made a couple of years ago. Just in

Paris, France

Image
Guess what? My kids have holidays again! After just seven weeks of school they already have had two days off and the first vacation of this year of school is this week. Last year we promised them to go to Paris, because they really wanted to see the Eiffel Tower, and now the time was there! Besides La Tour d'Eiffel we saw other things, of course. Here are some pictures: Front Door details of Notre Dame La Tour d'Eiffel   Sacre Coeur  Sacre Coeur Passerelle des Arts l'Arc de Triomph  Cemetiere Pere Lachaise

Star Pillow

Image
This week I made another pillow for my friend! www.betweennapsontheporch.net I'm a bit behind with my posts. Well, not with the written parts, but with my pictures. I can't find my camera, don't even have a clue where it can be. So I make pictures with my phone now, but still have to find out what the quickest way is to upload them to my blog.

Sugar Skull

My first Halloween project of the year! www.betweennapsontheporch.net I found the pattern at Pinterest , where it was said that it was designed by Words Free Me/Michael Perez. Originally it was made for hama beads, but I used it for cross stitches.

Finally people seem to see the things I make! Recently a friend asked me to crochet some pillows for her lifestyle shop, for decoration. She sent me a color card to choose from. There were ten colors in the card but only two of them in the craft store, antracite and coral red, so choosing didn't take much of my time. I made this, to begin with:   www.betweennapsontheporch.net ~*~ This week my Triangles Pillow and my 1000 Beads Necklace were both featured by Creative Jewish Mom !   My Flower Shawl was featured by The Cottage Market ! Thanks, Sara and Andrea!!

Clogs Make Over

Image
About three years ago I bought me some beautiful clogs in a soft pink. Not only the color was soft, but the leather was even softer. So soft actually, that after wearing the clogs for just one hour, the leather teared apart and the clogs became unwearable. Don't you LOVE it, when such happens? I bought the clogs in a town far away from my own home town, so going back to get my money back I didn't consider an option. And I already tossed the receipt in the bin anyway.  Unwearable or not, I couldn't throw the clogs away after wearing them for such a short time, so they were in my closet for years. I totally forgot about them, until I was searching for the mosquito net to make a Petticoat from for my daughter. I stumbled across the clogs and suddenly I knew what to do with them.  I forgot to make a before picture, but maybe you can imagine what the clogs looked like before the make over. I cut off the leather with a very sharp skin knife I took home from my w
