Gingham Girl's Dress

For our sixth anniversary my husband is treating me to a weekend to Bruges in Belgium! I'm really looking forward to it, because we want to go to this little city for so long now, but for some reason it never happened.

Anyway, because of this and the children's holidays and some guest that we will have this week, I don't have enough time to realise a DIY project before saturday (I post projects on tuesday and saturday, as you may have noticed). So, I will show you an oldie (but a goodie, that I haven't shown here before).

This dress I made for my youngest daughter when she became two years old. At the time I didn't blog yet, so that's the reason I didn't show it before, but now it made the blog anyway!

Althought the dress is about one and a half years old now, I still love it! But I'm a sucker for gingham, so this won't suprise you. It's a bodice with a full circle skirt that I finished off with bias band in a smaller gingham pattern. The belt is made of pink elastic and the roses I made of felt.

  1. You cannot go wrong with anything gingham! So glad you were able to feature this dress here, as it's so pretty, as well as smart. Bet your daughter loved wearing it. Made her feel really grown-up, I would imagine!

Thanks to malignant computer, haven't been following you as much as I would have liked. Hope to remedy the situation in future.

    Good luck

    1. Yes, she was :-) . Unfortunately she is much to big for it now, so I guess I have to make a new one very soon.

  3. The gingham dress is cute! I like the smaller gingham bias bands around the neck, arm, and bottom. The pink flower and belt are super cute with the dress, too!
