Banner Necklace

Image
Another thingy my youngest wants for her birthday, is a Banner Necklace. I saw this idea  here and thought it wouldn't be difficult to make with polymere clay. So I did.  www.betweennapsontheporch.net ~*~ Barbara from Busy Fingers, Busy Life featured two of my projects this week! My X-mas Ornaments And my African Flower X-mas Stocking My Crochet Basket was featured by The Cottage Market . Thanks, Barbara and Andrea! Nice start of the new year!

Ghent

Image
After a weekend Bruges this summer, we LOVE Belgium, so when we asked ourselves where to go for a nice weekend out, Ghent came to our mind immediately. So two weeks ago we stepped into the car and drove of. Here are some pictures: www.betweennapsontheporch.net

Birthday Skirt

Image
In a couple of weeks we have the birthday party of my youngest daughter and that means sewing a dress of course! Well, actually it's a skirt this year. Ever since I saw the Besito Skirt by Lena Hoschek I wanted to make one and now I did. For my daughter, that is. It took me days to see through the pattern and the ruffles on the back, but after trying a lot of different things, I think I figured it out. Here's the result.  Front Back www.betweennapsontheporch.net ~*~ This week my Crochet Basket was featured by Homework !! Thanks, Carolyn!

Hama Snow Flakes

Image
We are renovating our house and while I was looking for ideas for our kitchen, I came along this fun idea for X-mas decorations: snow flakes made of hama beads! Since my daughter has boxes full of those beads that I find everywhere, I finally found a way to eliminate them. Hooray and YAY! First we made the Hama X-mas Tree, but since I mentioned Hama Snowflakes in that post, there were some requests to show the flakes, too. So here you are: www.betweennapsontheporch.net

Crochet Basket for X-mas Ornaments

Image
Now that St Nicolaas is gone (a childrens fest people in The Netherlands celebrate), today we took the X-mas Tree out. I have balls in different colors, but this year it's all white and wood in my tree. My little daughters have found lots of pine apples this fall, so I could use them to fill my basket with.  The pattern I saw on my favorite crochet blog, Le Blog de Anne .     ~*~

X-mas Bracelets for Kids

Image
When I was looking for nice beads for a bracelet for myself, I found this little snowman, X-mas tree and Santa pendants, so the idea for this bracelet came quick. It's just one long chain that's wrapped around the wrist.  www.betweennapsontheporch.net

X-mas Skirt

Image
Every year my daughter has a X-mas Diner at Elementary School. Children are supposed to dress nicely and parents (read: mothers) are supposed to make something to eat. More about the treat I made will follow in a later post. For my daughter I made a simple circle skirt that I embellished with some green and red ribbon. After X-mas I can add ribbon in a not-so-X-massy color and than it will be a skirt like every other skirt.   www.betweennapsontheporch.net

X-mas Tree Ornaments

Image
Bought white polymer clay with sparkles and pressed it flat. Cut out stars and hearts with cookie cutters.  Pressed them on a cookie decorating mat. Punched a little hole in them. Put them in the oven for half an hour.  That was all it took. www.betweennapsontheporch.net

African Flower X-mas Stocking

Image
Most of the time I link the things I make up to Link Parties and sometimes you see something somebody else made that you like so much, that you want to make one for yourself. That was the case with this X-mas Stocking:  www.betweennapsontheporch.net If you want to make one for yourself, too, you can find the pattern at Persia Lou ! ~*~ My Proud as a Peacock painting was featured by The Cottage Market ! Thanks, Andrea!
