Upcoming birthday!

Image
After a great vacation at Menorca I’m back home again and full of inspiration! There’s a birthday party coming in September and I want to make a lot of the decorations myself, so I have to start early. Today I started to crochet the buntings. I finished only three by now, but as soon as the whole garland is done I show you more, of course. I’m busy making a tutorial for it, too. This is what I have now: The one below I made for an earlier birthday party, but the colors match this year’s theme also, so I’m going to use them again. ~*~ While I was gone, two of my projects were featured! Threading My Way featured my Cat Mask: FamilyHome and Life featured my Daddy Tattoo Bag: And just this weekend Threading My Way also featured my Little Princess Crown: Thanks, Pam and Connie!!

Polka Dot Dress

Image
In a post from a couple of weeks ago ( here ) I told you I wanted to try to make some clothes for myself (cigarette pants, two dresses, a top and a  pencil skirt). T he top  and the pencil skirt I finished last week, and now I have made one of the dresses, too. Here’s a picture of it. My favorite color is red and I love to combine it with black or marine, like I did in this dress.  The dress is made of polka dot jersey. The red fabric is interlock. I attached it a little loose, so that it looks draped. To complete the dress I applied a red rose.

Cardi Clips

Image
Last week I found the most adorable accessories at a blog called Nähfiddeley , namely cardi clips . I wear cardigans a lot, but never saw clips for it before, and I had to make them right away!  These are the clips I made: Strawberries White Roses You can find a video tutorial at  Nähfiddeley   , so you can make this, too!

Red Pencil Skirt

Image
Two weeks ago I told I you I liked sewing so much after making a vintage looking dress , that I wanted to make some more clothes for myself. I chose to make the following projects: two dresses, a pencil skirt, cigarette pants and a top. The top I made last week and today I finished the pencil skirt. This is the result: The fabric is red cotton sateen, which I think is just perfect for this skirt. It was my first attempt to sew in a zipper, but it worked out quite well. The pattern is from Burda.

Old School Daddy Tattoo Bag

Image
For Father’s Day I made this little bag. It’s not for my husband (of course), but for my oldest daughter, who really, really, REALLY wants a tattoo. She’s only four, so she has to wait a little longer, but for the time being I made this old school tattoo inspired bag for her. For my husband my daughters made something at school, so don't worry, he'll get something, too :-) ! ~*~ This week my Crochet Flower Dress is featured twice! Once by  Crafty Cousins  and once by  Bowdabra Blog ! Thank you, Susie and thank you, Ashlee!

Cowgirl Boots

Image
Months ago I found a pattern of crochet cowboy booties and now I finally have the opportunity to make them! A friend of mine, who is as big a fan of Hank Williams Sr as I am, is expecting a little girl, so I’m pretty sure she will appreciate these little boots! I adjusted the original pattern here and there to what I like myself, so the end result of my booties isn't exactly the same as the booties in the before mentioned pattern. Only thing I have to make now is a little shoebox to put them in, for a real professional look. I already found a nice tag for it at Free Pretty Things for You . ~*~ Beautiful orange rose, don’t you think?

Fold open. It now should like this:  * Do the same with the other diagonal sides, until all sides are connected.
